A level Mathematics allows you to explore and extend your knowledge and understanding of mathematical concepts. Highly numerate disciplines are in great demand from employers. The study of Mathematics is a sought after qualification for entry into higher education and can open doors to a variety of exciting and rewarding careers.

COURSE OUTLINE

AS Mathematics consists of three modules – two core units and one applied. Each module is assessed by a 90 minute exam taken at the end of Year 12. To achieve a full A level in Mathematics you will sit an additional three modules in your second year. Three 90 minute exams will be taken at the end of Year 13.

3 modules at AS level - C1, C2 and one applied unit.
3 modules at A2 level - C3, C4 and one applied unit.

PROGRESSIONAL/CAREER OPPORTUNITIES

An A level in Mathematics is essential for a degree in the subject and suggested for related higher education courses; including Engineering, Architecture, Medicine, Accountancy, Economics, Teaching, Business, Finance and Computer Sciences.
